“The growing needs for seniors and the investment required to support homecare workers, underscored the urgency for the $3 billion in homecare funding by federal government.”

“Homecare workers are the unsung heroes of healthcare," stated SEIU Healthcare President, Sharleen Stewart. "They provide some of the most demanding care to the most vulnerable Canadians. Despite the physical and mental strains related to their work, they remain some of the most compassionate of healthcare workers. The growing needs for seniors and the investment required to support homecare workers, underscored the urgency for the $3 billion in homecare funding by federal government. It couldn’t come at a more critical time.”

In 2015, prior to becoming Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau met with Emily, an SEIU Healthcare PSW, and her senior client, Anotonietta.
