Another nursing home chooses SEIU

Nursing home staff felt managers harassed them over small issues. If a worker was sick, sometimes administrators would order them to return to work. This isn't good for the employee or the resident. Some of the residents are in poor health and may suffer serious health problems from something as small as a common cold. 

Another big issue at the home is health and safety. The mechanical lifts are constantly breaking down. Employees have to lift up patients on their own, causing strain on their backs. They simply want the mechanical lifts to work properly.

Employees would also like seniority to be considered when management awards a raise or a job post.

Our new members at Bob Rumball Home for the Deaf will work with SEIU to negotiate a fair contract with their employer.
