Ebola: What You Need to Know

Visit our website for facts, resources, provincial directives, and videos about Ebola at www.seiuhealthcare.ca/ebola.

SEIU Healthcare leadership, staff, and members have been involved in Ebola prevention healthcare worker protection. We have representation on provincial committees and roundtables and have been working with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

Ebola is an infectious disease that has killed over 6,000 people. While it has not reached Canada, healthcare workers have a significantly higher risk of exposure to Ebola than the general public and therefore must be protected by effective health and safety policies and procedures.

No workplace is immune to risk. We are reviewing the policies of individual workplaces we represent to help protect workers. Do you have concerns about Ebola preparedness in your workplace? If so contact the Member Resource Centre at 1-877-672-7348.
Let’s work together for your health and safety at work.
