Fired Up and Ready To Go! Betty Cornelius on Political Action

Betty Cornelius

SEIU Healthcare member and McArthurs Mills, ON resident, Betty Cornelius, attended the 2015 Women's Day Conference and rally in Toronto on Sunday, March 8.

Betty has already been politically active on issues affecting kinship in Canada and now she plans to step into a greater role with our union by joining the Member Leadership and Action Program (MLAP), developed to encourage members to become active leaders in workplaces, communities, and politics. Betty says she hopes to form alliances with community organizations, advocacy groups, and labour councils to assist in growing our “purple army” by recruiting frontline members to take political action with her.

Betty works as a peer support worker, helping patients with mental health and addiction issues.
