Mental health and addictions counsellor and SEIU Healthcare member Ebenezer Inkumsah is chairman of his local Afro-Caribbean Multicultural Association, which hosts Simcoe County's Black History Month.
"For the past 16 years, Inkumsah has brought speakers and entertainers to Barrie to share the African-Canadian culture with residents, students and jazz lovers alike.
“It's amazing this started in the (Barrie City Hall) Rotunda, grew to the the Mady Centre and now it's gotten so big we're at the Georgian Theatre at Georgian College,” Inkumsah said.
This year, Inkumsah is bringing Canadian jazz legend Tiki Mercury-Clarke to entertain the expected 450 students and citizens with song and stories Feb. 20."
