On February 13, there will be a vote for new Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs) in the special by-elections for Niagara Falls and Thornhill.
Our public healthcare system is a great source of pride for Canadians. But it needs care, too. As our population ages, we must defend and enhance healthcare in Ontario.
When you vote, keep in mind public healthcare, respect for homecare, and good jobs!
Make sure to vote for the candidate most likely to:
1. Keep hospitals public
Ontarians are already paying higher costs for medication and services. Our healthcare, and especially hospitals, must remain public and accessible.
2. Focus on homecare
By 2036, 1 in 4 Canadians will be a senior. Homecare is an affordable and effective solution to growing demands on the healthcare system. Our MPPs must meet the challenge by ensuring that investments in homecare go to the frontline, not the bottom line.
3. Value good, secure jobs
The new MPPs should recognize the benefits of stable jobs and fair wages that support the local economies.
