On Saturday June 8, 2013, we held our 3rd Annual Multi-Faith& Community Network (SMCN) Fundraising Gala, at Steelworkers Banquet Hall in Mississauga to raise funds for community scholarships.
More than 300 attendees were treated to live performances by gospel singer Lorraine Harris, sketch comedy by Miracle Center Ministries, and performances by Chaundelle Parris and band "Why Blues"

A group of 12 SEIU Healthcare RPNs participated in a lobby day at Queen's Park in Toronto to celebrate Nursing Week. The RPNs spoke with MPPs about important issues they face in the workplace.
SEIU Healthcare RPNs were invited to Queen's Park on Tuesday May 7th as guests of MPP Soo Wong. SEIU’s RPNs not only got to sit and watch the House of Commons in session but also met with many political figures to discuss the important role that RPN's play in Ontario's healthcare system.

Every year, on April 28, SEIU Healthcare marks the National Day of Mourning. We stand with thousands of labour activists across the country as we pause to pay respects to our Sisters and Brothers who were killed or injured at work. Though much progress has been made in workplace safety, workers continue to die on the job. Last year alone, 298 Canadians died at work. On April 28, join us as we remember. SEIU Healthcare recently took its fight for healthcare to Montreal, where Canada's Official Opposition held a policy convention from April 12-14.
Frontline workers from across Ontario converged on Quebec to promote the cause of universal healthcare from the convention floor as well as in meetings with key federal New Democrat Members of Parliament, Niki Ashton (Churchill), NDP Health Critic, Libby Davies (Vancouver East), and leader, Thomas Mulcair (Outremont).
