90% of Mississauga retirement home workers vote SEIU

Another big problem is their erratic pay schedule. If an employee worked 40 hours, sometimes they would only receive pay for 35 hours. If they worked three weeks, sometimes they would only get paid for two. They would eventually get their full pay, but many times payment was delayed. Workers never knew how much they were going to get paid.

The workers also want a pension plan to begin planning their retirement.

SEIU will work with its new members at Palisades on the Glen to negotiate a fair contract with their employer.
