In April 2014, Personal Professional Liability Malpractice Insurance was made mandatory by Provincial Legislation in Ontario for all Nurses. Did you know that if you’re a member in good standing, SEIU Healthcare has automatically provided this insurance for you?
In order to renew this policy and to continue receiving mandatory insurance at no cost to you, you must indicate that you want to renew your policy with us. You must provide current email address as you will receive you certificate electronically in May 2016. To find out more information about PLP, visit SEIU Healthcare’s Nursing Division PLP FAQ page.
Call the MRC to renew or start your PLP by March 18, 2016 at 1-877-672-7348, or renew online by filling the form below. Please be advised that you will be asked for your email address and cell phone number during this process.
In April 2016 we will renew the mandatory Professional Liability Program Insurance ONLY for those members who renew their policy with us.
Once we receive your renewal information and your ID is verified as an SEIU Healthcare member in good standing (Article 3.1. Any Member of Local 1 Canada who has paid their dues shall be a member in good standing), you will receive a confirmation email.
You can expect your Personal Liability Program certificate via email by the end of May 2016.
