SEIU Healthcare President honoured at Queen’s Park

Throughout Women’s History Month, it’s important that we celebrate the countless women who have overcome historical barriers and hurdles to produce incredible achievements, while claiming their place in Canada’s history.

SEIU Healthcare PresidentSEIU Healthcare president Sharleen Stewart was among those trailblazing women recognized at Queen’s Park last night for making a difference in Ontario.

Joined by SEIU Healthcare Executive Board Women’s Representative Mina Amrith, Sharleen was honoured next to inspirational women across the province who are all doing their part in taking #ClaimYourPlace to the next level.

We’ve taken several steps forward thanks to the amazing women – like those honoured yesterday evening - who have harnessed their power and used their voice; influencing girls to follow in their footsteps. It’s imperative that we continue to fight together, influencing both current and future generations to work toward a society where we can all feel empowered. When women succeed, we all succeed.

Be strong. Be smart. Be kind. Claim your place. ” – Sharleen Stewart.

Make sure to share your personal stories of finding your voice on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter by using the hashtag #ClaimYourPlace this October.
